Saturday. Welcome to Hanoi! Airport to hotel arrival transfer.
Hanoi – Halong Bay. This morning drive to beautiful Halong Bay. Boarding junk boat we cruise the emerald waters. Later we visit spectacular Tien Ong Cave. Tonight, there's a Vietnamese cooking demonstration and seafood dinner.
Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue. Start the day with a Tai Chi class on the sundeck before exploring the Floating village of Cua Van. On arrival to Hanoi embark on a guided cyclo tour of the French Quarter, followed by a walking tour of the Old Quarter. Later, board overnight sleeper train to Hue.
Upon arrival to Hue we embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the 19th-century Nguyen empire capital. We visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, home to the oldest monastery in the city. We then explore the Royal Tombs of the Nguyen kings, and as the sun sets opt for a cruise in a long boat along the gentle Perfume River.
Hue - Road of the Ocean Clouds - Hoi An. Today we drive along the scenic Hai Van Pass (Road of the Ocean Clouds). En route we stop for a walk along My Khe beach. In Hoi An we’ll enjoy a short walking tour of this enchanting historical town.
A bicycle ride into the countryside, leads us to Tra Que village. Here, we discover age old farming practices and learn about traditional medicine. It’s a hands on experience today where we’ll assist with tending the fields and gardens and cooking lunch.
This day is free for you to independently explore Hoi An.
Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City. Early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Drive to the Mekong Delta. Taking our sampan from Vinh Long we’ll cruise downstream from Cai Be through the maze of waterways watching the hubbub of daily life on the river and enjoy short stops at some of the local cottage industries.
Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City. Early today we visit the ever lively Cai Rang floating market before departing for Ho Chi Minh City. On our walking tour of Ho Chi Minh City we see the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post Office before visiting the sobering War Remnants Museum.
Ho Chi Minh City - Phnom Penh. This morning we visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, we then we drive to the Cambodian border and continue on to the capital of Phnom Penh.
Today we’ll enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh starting at the National Museum of Fine Arts. We continue with the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, before coming face to face with the horrors of the Pol Pot regime as we visit Toul Sleng and the Killing Fields.
Phnom Penh – Siem Reap. Hotel check out and transfer to the airport for your included flight to Siem Reap. After time to freshen up we visit the Angkor National Museum. This afternoon we explore incredible and iconic Angkor Wat, easily the most famous and best-preserved of all the temples within the Angkor complex.
Today we visit an exotic butterfly sanctuary, the well-preserved temples of Banteay Srei and the ancient city of Angkor Thom, where highlights include the Bayon Temple and atmospheric Ta Prohm. Tonight we watch the wonderful Phare Cambodian Circus - a project that trains street kids to become circus artists.
This morning we visit the floating village of Kompong Phluk, with houses built on soaring stilts hovering over the Tonle Sap Lake. The afternoon is free to spend at leisure and perhaps visit the central market.
Saturday. Today marks the end of our memorable journey. Hotel check out and departure transfer to the airport.
