The best time to Beng Mealea and Kompong Khleang is from November to February when the weather is a bit cool and everything looks green, and fresh. Due to the distance, Beng Mealea is always less touristy while Kompong Khleang is still quiet. We don’t suggest you to visit Beng Mealea in the rainy season, from July to mid of October because it will be very slippery when the rocks get wet.

Dressing must be appropriately covered shoulders & knees, this is to show your respect to the locals and active sites. Strong footwear is extremely advised for this trip and should bring along hat, sun cream, sunglasses, insect repellent and extra water to dehydrate due to humidity.
Begin the tour at 8.00am to Kompong Khleang village – is the largest floating village located at the edge of Tonle Sap Lake, about 45km from central Siem Reap (1 hour drive). on the way, we taste a few bites of bamboo sticky rice – Cambodian traditional famous snack and observe incense making (seasonal). Arrived at the village, we embark private sheltered boat to discover amazing stilted houses standing over 8-10 high poles, witness daily life animated by the highlights of fishing activities, see a lot of morning trading on boats, learn how life works on the water and fishing techniques, and admired by floating community on Tonle Sap Lake.
Afternoon, drive to Beng Mealea then walk within the lush jungle to explore the lost temple “Beng Mealea”. Since the temple was constructed during the reign of king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century until then it’s never been restored again. It provides wonderful adventure which you’re going to climb over/down the ruined rocks, walking into the gallery to unlock the carvings and its interesting history of the Hindu temple related Angkor time. We then tranquilly capture picturesque photos. Transfer back to hotel.
